HOW TO DO RIBBON THREADING USING THE LADDER STITCH
1 Using a fabric marker or tailor’s chalk, draw a line on the fabric as a placement guide for the stitching.
2 Select the ladder stitch and install the satin stitch foot. Thread the machine with the desired thread.
3 Center the drawn line under the presser foot and stitch down the line making sure to backtack at the beginning and at the end. Repeat for additional rows if desired.
4 Thread the ribbon through a large needle such as a tapestry or sack needle. Use the needle to thread the ribbon under the horizontal stitches of the ladder stitch. Secure the ribbon ends with small hand stitches or fabric glue.
